What is Educational Technology?

After reading many definitions from various websites, I have concluded that they all pretty much say the same thing. In a nutshell, it is any form of teaching and/or learning through the use of informational technology. Listed below are websites defining educational technology:

• Educational technology is the use of technology to improve teaching and learning. It combines technology equipment with state or national standards. It is important that teachers do not use technological equipment just for the sake of using technology. All teaching of the curriculum standards comes first. Then, teachers must see how technology can support that curriculum standard(s) and make learning interesting for students.
